The Erasmus +. KA2 Strategic partnership for Youth “Vital Information for Drugs Awareness - VIDA - Using interactive infographics to raise drugs awareness”project runs from 1st of June 2020 to 31st of May 2022 with the aim to actively promote and support quality and innovation in youth work settings and empower a new cohort of informed peer leaders to help mitigate the impacts of substance abuse on individual and communities. The project consortium is made up of 5 organisations representing 5 different partner countries. Partners have been chosen on the basis of their expertise in different disciplines to ensure that all the skills and insights necessary for a successful project are present within the consortium. 
The VIDA project will develop the first interactive infographic-based drugs awareness campaign and educational resources. It will also provide a bespoke in-service training programme for front-line youth workers, a peer leadership programme and a unique online portal to ensure that the maximum impact can be achieved with this drugs awareness raising intervention in today's increasingly switched-on and connected world.

Main aim:

  • To actively promote and support quality and innovation in youth work settings. VIDA hopes empower a new cohort of informed peer leaders to help mitigate the impacts of substance abuse on individuals and communities.

Impact:

The VIDA Consortium will gather efforts to guarantee the long-term impact of the project through the following measures:

  • The in-service training programme and the peer leadership training programme can be added to the range of courses available in each partner country.
  • The new interactive infographics will be added to the current online resources and tools that help people of all ages to promote drug awareness. 
  • Ensuring that all technology platforms - specifically the VIDA MOOC and the project website - remain available for 5 years beyond the project lifecycle.
  • Publishing all outputs on platforms like SALTO-Youth will ensure long-term access of the project. 

Target groups:

  • frontline youth workers;
  • young people interested in becoming peer leaders;
  • young people who are living with a substance abuse problem;
  • young people who are living in a circumstance impacted by the substance abuse of someone else.

The VIDA project is disseminated via different channels:

  • Events and mass-media articles
  • Multiplier events, facilitated as a set of drop-in workshops, where young people can come to a welcoming and safe environment to discuss drug awareness issues.
